Hi!
I'm Josie.
I’m the clinician behind Spirit Holler, offering adult autism assessments to Oregon residents through telehealth. My approach is neurodivergent-affirming, sensory-aware, and grounded in deep respect for each person’s lived experience. I grew up in the Appalachian mountains, and the steadiness, close listening, and community values I was raised with guide how I show up in this work
I serve adults anywhere in Oregon, including Portland, Eugene, Bend, Salem, Corvallis, and rural communities.

Evidence based screening tools
Standardized assessment measures commonly used in adult autism evaluations to support diagnostic accuracy and help clarify your neurotype.
An autism assessment might be for you if...
you’ve always felt different without having the language for it
you’re high-achieving but struggle with executive functioning or social fatigue
you struggle with small talk, social rules, or unspoken expectations
you struggle with sensory sensitivity
you’ve been told you’re blunt, direct, or too honest
someone you trust encouraged you to explore an autism evaluation
you feel more comfortable with animals, nature, or creative outlets than typical social spaces
you can't stop wondering if you might be autistic
Why Spirit Holler?
Adults choose Spirit Holler for an autism assessment that is clear, paced, and rooted in lived neurodivergent experience. As a neurodivergent clinician, I bring both evidence-based tools and personal understanding to the work, offering a grounded and compassionate space for clarity.
My Appalachian roots shape how I sit with people: slowing down, listening close, honoring your story, and bringing a steady, sincere presence. There is space here for laughter, light-hearted moments, and the kind of gentle tough love that helps folks feel both supported and understood. These values naturally weave into the assessment process and make it feel more human.
What Sets Us Apart
Adult Autism Assessments
At Spirit Holler, an adult autism assessment is more like sitting together in a rocking chair than being pushed through a clinical checklist. The process is structured, but the conversation has room to breathe—three telehealth sessions where your story is honored and understood.
